School Success Program

The School Success Program has been developed to equip children with developmental delays with the necessary skills to thrive in their school setting.  This program is suitable for children  who are: 

  • Struggling with the foundations of reading and writing 
  • Challenged by the classroom structure and routine 
  • Having difficulties with social interactions 

 

The School Success Program is designed to ensure children will have greater confidence, improved literacy skills and social skills.

Operating in a small group learning environment the program is run by teachers and/ or Speech Pathologists. 

Each session will run for one hour and be be structured to reflect a typical Stage 1 learning environment.

Focus for this program:

Literacy Goals

  1. Learn the foundational skills of reading and writing ( how to segment, blend and manipulate phonemes to support reading and writing development)
  2. Develop fine motor control and co-ordination to support writing formation 

 

We strive to facilitate a positive attitude and motivation towards learning, to experience success in a supportive educational environment.

Social Communication Goals

  1.  Develop and manage self – regulation in social settings ( problem solving, social challenges, classroom and play time )
  2. How to make friends and manage relationships in a social setting

 

The aim of our program is to support each child to build and secure a strong sense of belonging, to develop their self-confidence and respond appropriately to others around them.
